Project Overview
The Math Words and Ideas (MWI) provides interactive, in-depth reviews of mathematical concepts that focus on building vocabulary through context, discussion, and interactive activities, rather than rote memorization, and scaffolds understanding of mathematical vocabulary across grade levels.
How the User-Interface Supports the User
- The clear and visual format provides an engaging way to review concepts.
- The animations and interactive activities give students immediate opportunities to manipulate objects or try out a problem-solving strategy.
- The interface helps them develop mathematical language naturally by seeing and hearing new terms used regularly alongside the visual concepts.
